This sounds like a war book that does not beat around the bush. I love the characters of Cooby and Cope. I am looking forward to reading the entire book so as to understand the Vietnam war better. Thanks for a well-written review.

I am not one to read books about the war. Never really got into it not even in school. I did read some of this book and it seemed interesting. I’m still on the fence if I want to read it. Thanks for the well detailed review.

I've never read a war story before but seeing as this one got 4/4 in the review, it might be a great start for me.

Wow, I don´t enjoy that kind of stories, but the plot seems interesting, I mean, I had never thought about the things the army had to go through. I'm curious about it.

Sounds informative but besides what I have to read for school, I only read for pleasure. And this does not seem like something I would enjoy.

It is a war novel based on a true story, which tells aspects of the daily life of soldiers in the camp and offices. Sounds interesting.

A compelling, action-packed, suspenseful war novel based on a true story. Plus, it has well-developed characters and is well edited. Sounds a must-read for fans of the genre! Although I enjoyed the sample, I will pass on this one as it is not my genre. Thank you for the detailed review!

I wonder why the author chose that title. Does it describe the army, the copters, or the assignment? These tough and huge animals sure tickle the imagination. I like Cope and Cooby from the sample. Operations support is definitely not less tough than dodging bullets.

Thanks for giving such a great description of the book. I enjoyed reading your review. Thanks, too, for the heads up about some parts being boring. So far, after reading the sample pages, I'm intrigued to get a different perspective on a war that's been written about a lot. I enjoyed reading your well-written review.

I do enjoy war stories because it teaches me things that I would not have learned elsewhere. I knew that the Army did and still does rely heavily on paperwork to get anything accomplished. This is why they went from measuring success by the amount of yards of land gained to body counts in order to quantify their successes. My uncle served in Vietnam as a Army supplier, but I am always fascinated by the men and women of other branches or jobs.

This book is going to be good for those who love war stories. Since it focuses on US involvement in vietnam war, it will definitely provide some knowledge on how things really work inside. Thanks for a good review. I will definitely try it once.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting novel following a young soldier that has joined the United States Army after college and has been tasked as flight operations specialist. During his service, he was assigned to the Assault Helicopter Company in South Vietnam. Overall, it seems like an interesting read and well worth a second look. Well done.

This is a humorous and riveting storytelling. We usually read about the war, the gore and violence, but there comes the human side when the characters live their life in the barracks, tending to be in a civilian setting. It always amuses me to hear of newbie stories. Thanks for the review.
