Sadly I am not a fan if historical fiction/nonfiction. I was enlisted in the Army from 1997 to 2006 and your review is completely accurate. I know that it is instilled in every soldier to look out for each other and this #BOTD seems a good choice for general military ethics.

I don’t usually gravitate towards war stories, but I think I’d find the plot thread regarding paperwork in the US Army fascinating. Thanks for the review!

It seems to be a good war-based book. It also has the details of how military aviation unit works which is rare. Looking forward to reading it. Congrats on BOTD!

This was a quite exhaustive review. However, I'm not too much in to war stories. Especially, when it is also a true story. Makes the horrors of war more real for me. Thank you for this detailed review!!

I usually like war stories but I am not sure about this one. Maybe because I have read several books with similar themes. Thank you for the heads up for readers who might not enjoy aviation activities.

This is an excellent review! Unfortunately, war stories really aren't my thing, so I'm going to take your advice and skip this one. I might suggest it to my husband though.

This book follows a young American soldier who enlists in the army and is stationed in South Vietnam on a helicopter assault team. It shows the daily life of the recruits, including all of the paperwork they must complete and the fun they have while on R&R. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your interesting and honest review.

I have always been a fan of war stories. They have a way of describing and instilling many virtues that I hold to be good, including discipline, courage, determination, and Grit. Thanks for your review.

After learning about the Blue Water Navy sailors in Deadly Waters, I look forward to finding out about the Vietnam War from the Army Aviation Unit point of view. Thank you for a great review.

I love war stories especially when it's based on a true story. This book gives in depth narration of American soldiers during the world ward and what their job entails. Their devotion in serving their country is inspiring.

I like that the author touches continuously on the camaraderie he felt for the men he served with. I wince at hearing how they were treated when they came home. And I am so proud of what they withstood so that we would stay free. Thank you for your in-depth review; it was exceptionally well written.

Thanks for your review. I’m not a big fan of war stories but I’m glad this one has a fast-paced narrative and that there is a focus on the men supporting one another.

It can seem monotonous to read yet another war-related book, yet this one seems to offer a new perspective into the military operations, such as the paperwork. It sounds interesting to discover not just the solder’s point of view from enemy attacks, but the smaller details.
