A book that involves torture and abuse of kids is not my idea of reading for entertainment. This one sounds like it has way too much glorification of evil and torture for me. Thank you for highlighting those pieces so I know to stay away from this one.

Sounds like a gripping science fiction and fantasy story. I wish the book was more about scientific aspect with less or null demonic and magical features. Though I challenged myself to resume reviewing sci/fi and fantasy books, I'm afraid I'll skip this book because of the traits I've mentioned above that are available in the book. Based on your review this seems like the kind of book which after reading you are glad it's fiction, and hope was not inspired by real life experiences. I can't imagine reading stuff about children being abused. Thanks for the warning. However, it's a theme which needs to be written about because stuff happens.
