Dentarthurdent wrote: 13 Feb 2020, 16:38 Thanks for such a concise review! I'm glad that from it, I was able to learn that the author is not needlessly ghoulish, despite the macabre premise of the book. It annoys me when authors insist on painting a vivid word picture, doubtlessly a red one at that.
The fact that this book also gives one food for thought is what sells it!
Yes, despite some "doom & gloom", B.T. Keaton offered something positive as well, all in a sophisticated story that contains important themes. Thank you for your appreciation. :)

You certainly know your sci-fi! Did you know that Ray Bradbury called it "fantasy's robot child"? Fabulous review!
This post was brought to you by the word "specifically".

I read Ray Bradbury's stories and most information about him in their Italian translations, so I didn't know this definition. Thank you for your appreciation. :)

To think that all of this could happen in the 22nd century sounds simultaneously very optimistic and pessimistic. Then again, lots of things have changed drastically in the last few decades alone, so who knows what will happen in a century. The premise is quite intriguing, so I'm interested in reading this one. Thanks for the review!

Yes, the idea is that two technologies - faster-than-light travel and soul transfer - would radically change humanity in a few decades. Thank you for your appreciation. :)

This definitely sounds like a book that gives you a lot to think about. Some of the topics seem a little dark, but thanks for the great review!

There is indeed darkness in the story, so I understand it's not for everybody, but I think it's worth it. Thank your for your appreciation. :)

Thanks for another insightful review! The book doesn't look like my taste, due to the convoluted parts and brutality scenes. Still, I agree with you that dystopian themes have become quite popular, so other readers will like this book!

Sometimes I think that dystopian stories have become too popular, as it means that it's easier to see future with pessimism. Thank you for your comment!

This is a very interesting (and scary premise). It sounds like this book tackles a lot of important themes. Thanks for a great review!
