The topic of slavery in North America is widely discussed, but the plight of slaves in South America is sometimes overlooked. I would like to read this book to find out more.

The title is certainly attention grabbing. The book deals with heavy topics that affect us to date; Human trafficking, corrupt governments, racial discrimination, exploitation of the Amazon. I look forward to reading about the historical interplay between the African and South American cultures. Thank you for a great review.

This kind of book takes you back in time. It gives you the kinds of images you have seen in movies like Twelve Years A Slave. It is heartbreaking though to have to go through the horrendous experiences of mine workers at that time. Thanks for this nice review.
