I love the two scenarios created in this book. The first is that there's an encouragement for the talented young people. On the other hand, those whose focus is on the academics, the message of the book is still relevant. The two worlds find their description here. This sounds like a must read for youths. Your review is great and educating.

Art Fairy by Floras Athena sounds amazing. What is Oris supposed to give to Art Fairy as a price for the promised fairer world where his dreams can come true? I can't wait to find out. Such a nice review. Congratulations to the author on the BOTD.
Books are beautiful.

I was surprised this book got such a high rating in the review. I read the sample pages and struggled with how the book is written. The story didn’t flow for me at all.

A child should not have to worry about so much in his life. Terrible parents, bullies, and fear for his own safety should not be things anyone has to face day after day. I like the mix of realism and fantasy in this book, though the whole thing seems a bit intense for me.

This is an inspirational fantasy story about art, music, art fairy, childhood trauma, true happiness, and magic. The book has a free sample on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review that highlights the book perfectly. Congrats @AthenaFloras on being the BOTD.

I don't usually like past and present storytelling either. I understand how too many metaphors can harm the story. Great review this sounds like interesting book.

Sounds like an interesting read, but I'm just not sure I could make it all the way through with excessive metaphors and similes. I'll pass on this one.

A book that calls out the mockery that is the education system. And that too one that discusses realism and surrealism in parallel with music as the premise. I would love to give this a read! Thanks for the review and congratulations on BOTD!

I feel like I can relate to this book in many ways. Bullies at school, misery at home. Preasure to get good grades takes away from perfecting your art, which in my case was music in high school. Only way to escape is to a fantasy world. Like how this book coexist between 2 worlds, the real world & fantasy. Would like to read this book.

The theme on pressure as a cause of impediment of talents in our children is absolutely true. Depending on the themes highlighted above, I am ready not only to jump into it but also recommend it further... I hope it will be worth my time.

Thank you for your review. Reading the blurb and the excerpt the book would have been a hard pass from me, but reading your review made me think. I'm still hesitant. As a non-native speaker the preview chapters were kind of confusing to me and I'm not sure the great premise (expressed in your review) is worth the pain.

I hated school myself, as a child, but I was fortunate to have teachers who knew my potential and who helped me a lot in many ways. But the system here in South Africa during the 60's and the 70's was repressive and almost brutal at times. I loved reading, thanks also to my mother, and worlds of fantasy were a welcome escape for me. The world of faerie is fascinating, and I think the story of this child will still strike a strong resonce inside me. Your review was enjoyable and a pleasure to read, as well as being very illuminating.

Unfortuately, I won't be reading the rest of the book due to different preferences, however it has a beautiful flow through the part I've read and was indeed a book that someone could enjoy. :D

I could barely make it through the sample on Amazon, so I am surprised to read such a positive review. I am in the education field, so maybe I will go back and give it another chance. Thank you for provided such in-depth feedback.
