This is so true of many parents today. They drill education and good grades, but not the arts, that some schools offer. I am not saying that you don’t need an education, but make room for other things.

I think you did a good job with your review and recommendations. I have added this to my bookshelf.

At a glance I thought that this is a children's book, but it seems not so. This is an interesting book which discusses a common issue that every child goes through. Congratulations on being BOTD and this deserves it

Well, there is no better tomorrow without a bitter experience of yesterday. I think this book will be interesting to me despite the errors. I actually like the review

I agree that the educational system is flawed and, of course, I appreciate the importance of artistic development but what about those kids whose talents are scientific? Or for sports? I think a much more inclusive view is needed.
Thank you for your analytical review.

Though this book sounds interesting, I will read it only because I have an open mind and am curious how it develops. As a parent, it dismays me to see a book condemn the education system. I understand and agree talents should be cultivated. However, it makes the future of a child very difficult if left to their own devices and not encouraged to get good grades. Unfortunately, there would need to be a shift in our society for that child to ever succeed. Until then, I will encourage my teenagers to strive for their very best while balancing the classes where they can show their creative side. Even those classes have grade requirements. It is sad to read about so much bullying and abuse in a child's life and feel that is more important than fighting the school system.

As an unschooler and a creative, I can agree that the school system does have its problems for people like me. However, some kids thrive at school.

Oh, I do like Greek mythology, although the excessive use of literary devices can definitely get long-winded. Thanks for the review!

I have a feeling that this book is meant to be for children but somehow it's more balanced to adults... Anyway, the topic of cultivating talents is needed, I believe, and many parents and educators should consider it more. I won't be reading it though.

Sounds like a great book to escape reality a little with the help of fairies. Unfortunately, life can be that ugly sometimes and there are no fairies to rescue us from it. Thanks for a great review. I like the lessons the author tries to pint out.

I’m going to agree with several replies - the grammar and syntax appear very rough. I’m not sure I’d be able to chew my way through it to finish the book.

The conspiracy of the school system is too much in this generation.

This sounds like an enchanting, mystical story about a boy’s pursuit of his dream. I may give this one a look. Thanks for the review, Aniza. :techie-studyingbrown:

An interesting story of a primary school kid named Oris can be found in the book "Art Fairy" by Floras Athena. He aspires to be a great musician, but misery and beatings by his parents at home for his bad grades at school hinders his learning of music. The story appears to be inspirational.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Art Fairy by Floras Athena - Thanks for the review. I have to say how much I enjoy English when written by a Korean or a Japanese, somehow it has a unique sound. Also, the sample talks so much about the torture of Oris, that I would like to read about the better life to balance things up.

Having suffered a "load of miseries" myself while growing up, I can feel for Oris, but the plot isn't pulling me in, so I don't think I'll be reading this. Thanks for the review, just the same.
