While I can relate to the angst artists feel about whether to pursue their passion or choose stability, I will pass on this one because of the rough language and overuse of metaphor. Thanks for the review.

I think there are some extreme views considering the contrast between the two worlds. I will stayb away due to profanity. Thank you for the review.

Although I appreciate the fact that the author emphasizes the negative influence of byllying and the beauty of art as a refuge from a harsh reality, I find the author's style a bit confusing, so I don't think this book will go on my reading list. Thanks for your review, though.

Even though I am not into art as much as others may be, I find this story to be very similar to many of the things that adults do when they do not recognize the talents of their children. Congrats to the author on BOTD! :)

Congratulations on BOTD although I'm sorry to say, reading the summary pages, I found it difficult to follow and thus don't think it's my style. But, saying that, I have to add: great review! It certainly gave more insight.

The book sounds interesting and the topics described there are also good. I like that the author criticises the constant nagging of parents about their children's grades because I'm a teacher and understand the uselessness of such a behavior as it creates only resentfulness. It is also great that the author suggests solutions for this issue. I'm also against exams and all for giving children the opportunity to develop and do what they feel like doing for their future. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

This book fell like an afflatus upon me! I really needed an inspiration that would take me out of the monotonous flow of life.
Thanks for your review. ^^

A nice review of a book that raises questions. Both strong points and weaker ones are mentioned.
I agree that violence and profanity are less than welcome in a children's book but there are also language mistakes on a regular basis. The only explanation would be that the character who is speaking is not good at English, a reason for being punished by the parents.
However, my opinion is that children's books should be perfect as far as language is concerned because they are what children learn the language from.

Incredibly creative, yet so incredibly sad. As a classical musician, I understand the pressure of a society who thinks that we do nothing. Definitely a book for me.

Congrats to Floras Athena for BOTD honors. And kudos to "Art Fairy" for shining a light on a very needy population. As a sport psychologist, I had a front row seat to observe and experience the pressures brought to bare on our young people. Although hard to read/hear, the message is powerful. Well done.

This book sounds amazing. The themes that are being addressed is heavy but it's also things that almost everyone should be aware about. This book definitely has something good going for it, even with it's flaws. Thank you for the review.

I really like how this book is outlined in review. Reviewer highlighted all finer points, but at the same didn't try to cover any minuses as well. And even through story is far from be original, I believe it might proof yo be quite inspirational. Congratulations with BOTD!

Thank you for your informative review. The Art Fairy world where all dreams come true sounds intriguing but the real world for Oris of physical abuse from his parents and torture from school bullies does not appeal to me. His life is full of misery that he must endure each day. I usually enjoy metaphors and similes but an excessive amount is also a turn off for me. Thanks for a great review but I am going to pass on reading this book.
