Thank you for sharing your review with us. It appears that you really enjoyed this book. I am not really a fan of this genre, so I think I will skip this one.

I am not a fan of neither historical fiction nor war books however I need to applaud a thorough review as well as the author's knowledge on those things which clearly come through in his writing. Well done.

The title of the book have me the impression that this must be a memoir. I'm surprised to find out that it's historical fiction. However, the plot is great.

This sounds an amazing story that portrays the life and the feelings of soldiers and their families. They are the ones who makes the most sacrifices and is least appreciated. Thank you for a great review.

I enjoy reading historical fiction, and this book sounds fascinating. I'm always open to learning new things about the war's aftermath, and General Winfield Hancock's military journey seems to highlight such an outcome. Thanks to the author for his service, and congratulations on BOTD!

Amazing review, Kibetious! Thanks for the recommendation!

A historical fiction based on war and written by a war veteran will be worth reading. I like that it was action-packed from the start.

Your enthusiasm clearly shows but I got confused in your summary of the book. Historical fiction and me have always been opposite poles and unfortunately seems like thay will continue to be in that way. Thank you for the review

I love historical fiction. I’m especially intrigued by the civil war. This book sounds very interesting since it is apparently well researched.

Reading or even writing about war is never easy. I am glad the author did a fantastic job with this book. As a lover of historical fiction, I am enthused that historical information in the book was well researched. The emotions and general feeling of war and its aftermath is well conveyed. Thank you for a well-written review.

The book sounds well written but I will not be able to read the book. I'm not a fan of historical fiction and it even though it sounds interesting, I don't think it's for me.

It definitely must have been a difficult thing for the soldiers who were friends to turn out to be adversaries and fight against each other on a battle field. Thanks for this review!

I'm sure this one will have a lot of strong emotions. War is never a good thing, with plenty of heartache. And in some cases the awful act of having to fight against sides that include people that at one time was a friend. The anguish of losing fellow soldiers and be horrible to. This Is no doubt an great story, but not for me. Congratulations on BOTD.
