Nadeem’s journey gives us a real insight as to how life can change so suddenly even though it may seem so perfect and feels like nothing can go wrong. In the form of a true story, this book written is not just a story of Nadeem but also of his mother, of the struggles that she had to face along with her family in order to compete with the disease that Nadeem was diagnosed at an age of just 25. The incident highlights everyone's struggle and also shows women strength when Nadeem’s mother, his grandmother and also his aunts would take care of him to their best effort.

The beginning of the book is the joy of motherhood when she recounts her early life starting from the point she gave birth to Nadeem at the young age of 22 and raised him as a single mom while being supported by all her family members. The memory lane which the author takes us into is very moving and reminds us of our own childhood somewhere or the other. Like most of the kids Nadeem would love to play sports especially cricket and was so good at it that he was the captain of the team. He was excellent at academics and also had good presence of mind to help his mother when she needed assistance with for her chores along with being a loving brother.

He wanted to achieve much in life. He excelled in all that he tried but life had some other story written for him. His life changes when he starts facing health problems at 25 which was later diagnosed as cancer. Like any other person Nadeem also broke down and wanted to cry which he did but later picked himself up and just wanted to spend the rest of his time with his friends.

The author has provided all details that a reader would ask for including dates and that makes us realize how quickly things started to change. The pictures added in the book makes the reader feel connected and can make the reader feel that Nadeem was a part of their life as well. Would rate it 4 out of 4 stars.
