The challenge women have trying to juggle between home and work is a never-ending story. I will gladly pick up this read. Thanks for your review!

Based on the review, the novel sounds interesting with a strong and creative plot. As an intelligent and strong woman coping with a compelling career and personal issues, CJ seems to be an engaging character. Regrettably, profanity and detailed sex do not appeal to me. Thank you for the excellent review.

The subject matter of this book is doesn't speak to me on any level. I read description in review and it seems so mundane and ordinary that you can see it happening to anyone around you. I am sorry, but I don't have habit to look into private family business and as such will have to pass it.

Finding and maintaining the right work-life balance is challenging for anyone, especially for someone with as much on their plate as CJ. She seems like a very strong and likable character. Thanks for the fabulous review!

Work-life balance as in this case career and marriage setting is a tough one in reality. So I can imagine CJ's struggle in The Assignment. Your review made it is easy for me to picture her dilemma. I will be reading this book soon as character-driven books are my spec. Thanks Stephanie.

A very strangely interesting book. Reading the free sample actually got me curious, even though I usually only read fantastical books. A character-driven story lives on its characters, and judging by your review, it succeeded!

Thank you for the review!

A lovely carved out story with a well developed character. CJ's character shows how we can be good at most things but still lack one single important knowledge. Thanks for this review. .

I love books with good characters. CJ seems to have a lot on her plate with her husband's behavior and her career. I would love to read this book to see how it turns out. Thanks for your wonderful review, as always!

The Assignment sounds like such an intricate yet amazing. I love books that are character- driven and this one sees to be exactly that! Also the protagonist sounds like a very realistic and fascinating character, making the story all the more interesting. I'll definitely make time to read this!

Thanks for your review. This sounds like a very intense book that displays the tension in the main character’s marriage very well. Thanks for the warning about explicit sex scenes.

I'm a bit curious about this book, but my curiosity isn't piqued enough to put this book on my to-be-read shelf at this time. I'll probably set it aside to check it out at a later time and read a few chapters to see where the book takes me. Thank you for the review.

The speech is hilarious, unexpected but what a way to divert from the boring norm all the while remaining educative!!

I always enjoy your reviews, Stephanie Elizabeth. They're always so well-written and your analysis clear and enjoyable. This isn't what I normally read, but it sounds intriguing. Just curious, though: did you find the ending satisfying? I'm a sucker for happy endings and, quite frankly, I'm not sure how this can have one especially if CJ is, as you say, so "clueless" about interpersonal relationships.
