I agree...
I guess it's part of the author's arrangements in the next series.
Dermot was evil; he can't just go like that.
I'm feeling he'll have a comeback plot in the next book where he'll pay dearly for all he did.

It did seem a little rushed. And the cannibalism thing just hung out there, too. When a bad guy is that bad, I love to see them come to a justice that people can celebrate!

I thought it was a little random that it was his dad that did the killing too.KDJ wrote: ↑17 Mar 2020, 21:19 Yes, I agree he just left , but at least his dad got caught. That was kind of wierd that his dad was the assassin. I would think he would be arrested for murder inIreland because that is where it happen, even if he didn't directly do it. He just has a lot of money to get away with it. Maybe he'll resurface in the next book and Bridget can get retro justice for his evil deeds.

Great point. I think that was a huge loose end that should be more satisfying for the reader only is not handled well. But for the book that while it is a part of s series but still should stand on its own. We put to much trust in future books even if we don't know will that happen.kdstrack wrote: ↑29 Mar 2020, 23:09 The author indicates that the police are looking for Dermot. As he was behind the murders, this ends up being a loose end that doesn't satisfy readers' sense of justice. I applaud Hillary's confidence in the police force, but it does make readers steam to see the villain get away instead of being behind bars! Maybe Dermot and Seamus will meet again in the future???

Sadly, that's life. I agree that Dermot was evil and deserved to suffer much more.
You an I, tonight!
You may forget the warmth he gave,
I will forget the light.
When you have done, pray tell me
That I my thoughts may dim;
Haste! lest while you're lagging.
I may remember him!
