This sounds like a perfect YA book. I know that many teens love fantasy, sci-fi, and shapeshifting; however, I do no share their enthusiasm for this genre. I am pleased that the female characters display good qualities.

Sophia Violet lives with her adoptive parents, kind and loving people. Sophia Violet is a shapeshifter, the same as her parents were. Thanks for the review, it said it all.

A girl child finds out about her non-human identity and abilities and is thrust into the center of a battle to save her non-human world, while keeping all this away from her loving human parents. Sounds like a great book.

I must commend the author for doing a fantastic job. Rolling out creative ideas and selling it out to the readers in a way they'll flow with its descriptions is top notch. I wonder how Sophia felt when she came to the realization of her true self.

Interesting read but somehow complicated with reveals that came out of the left field. The pacing was bizarre so to speak; characters would stop during a tension-building moment to discuss how another character was feeling about the events that transpired. If this was to be made into a series, which based on the cliff hanger of an ending makes me think it will be, then it needs pristine editorial work and simplification until subsequent books can introduce the required components.

I would have loved this book if I was a teenager. Sophia's adventures sound really interesting. It's nice that topics of prejudice, friendship, the toxicity of secrets and deception, and finding oneself are presented in this coming of age story.

The first few pages of Sophia Violet and the Fiery Orb are grabbing. The very first sentence is incredibly blunt and leaves you taken back in a way, filled with questions, and curious to read more.
The descriptions used thus far are intense and interesting- leaving you curious as to what the entire situation is. You start right smack in the middle of some stressful events, making your heart start pumping right away. So far an interesting read and something I'll be thinking about until I continue reading!!

I like your description of the characters in the story. It's nice when the leads can be people that are strong while still have admirable traits of character like kindness, courage, etc. Thanks for another well-written review! I enjoyed reading it.
