This seems to be a good book that promotes gender equality. As the review says, it seems well-researched and well-written. Looking forward to reading it. Congrats on BOTD!

If you are distributing food, everyone will need some amount, but not necessarily equal amounts. How the do you describe equality to individuals with different perception on same concepts such as responsibilities towards society, each other, and even towards oneself?

I've not seen a book or review discuss or that tries to dissect feminism and theology. For that alone, I would give it a read! Congratulations on being selected as BOTD.

The review is very thorough but I am not a big fan of the theme. So I think I will skip reading this one.

It's refreshing to see how feminism is increasing in it's awareness to equality and I love how the author includes religion in all of this.

I've never heard of the church referred to as the "Second Eve" before. This seems to make this book somewhat unique. However, religion-based books are firmly out of my preferred genres, so I'll be skipping this one. Thanks for the informative review!

I will enjoy reading on how men and women are viewed in the scriptures in terms of their equality. And also the discussion of Jesus as the second Adam and the church as his bride (Eve). Nice review.

Women are created as a helper (Genesis 2:18). That alone shows that God created us equally. A good book but not something that I want to read at the moment and I'm not into proving equality whatsoever. Feminism to me is to get your work done, your mission to be accomplished. If you can't, then you aren't reliable.

In my entire time in the history of reading books, gender equality, feminism and the Bible has never been discussed in one presentation. I must day, this is what makes this book unique. Thanks for an honest informative review.

The book's premise is certainly an interesting topic that is constantly under discussion. From the review, the author seems to have made great strides in relating equality to the Bible scriptures. That is a commendable feat as the same Bible has been used to castigate women and commend male domination. Worth a read this book...

As a non-religious person, I don't think I am the right demographic for this book. I am glad to see something like this written, and I hope others get a new perspective after reading it. Great review!

This seems to bring a new and refreshing look at gender equality. It would be great reading what the author has discussed and more so from the biblical perspective. Thanks for the review.

Women have suffered far too much throughout history, and it sounds like this book comes as an essential complement to the current times that seem to be undergoing a major change, from the subjugation of the woman to her equality in front of the man, but also of society. Traditional teachings of over 2000 years seem to be subject to a new challenge. Thank you for the thought-provoking recommendation!

Many scholars have referred to the Bible as somehow male-centered. That is not to say that it despises women, or look down upon women, but, perhaps, as the author of this book says, women were not given the status of equality, just something of a supporting role, we might say.
It could not be denied that family structures of biblical societies were patriarchal. Or was it the curse on Eve that "your husband will have dominion over you" mode of relationship that Adam was insured of dominance? By the way, I have thought at first glance that this book might have been that story of the apocryphal "Lilith" that was created on what some brainiacs dubbed as the second "Creation Story." I guess I have to read this book. Thanks for the comprehensive review.
