This book is a product of Christian feminist theology, and it promotes equality between men and women in families as well as churches. I like it that it is well-written and researched. Inasmuch as I'm a pro egalitarian society, it is a topic I always don't like reading about. Feminists will find it to be a very important read. Thanks for your review.

This one isn't for me. I am not confused with where I stand as a women. And I dont think mixing feminism with the wors of God is the way to go. The only people that misunderstand or take advantage of women obeying their husbands or men being the head of the house, are people that do not know God and want to use this to control the woman. I personally dont want the weight of the family on my shoulders so my husband can have that. I'm ok with supporting and helping him. Like I said this one is not for me, but congratulations on BOTD.

It's true that God originally envisioned the relationship between men and women. Holy religions have given due rights to women and give them a respectable place in society. But man-made alterations in divine laws and different traditions have made this topic controversial and put the people on diverging views regarding woman's freedom and equality. Congratulations on BOTD.

I think there is nothing like feminism and the church. Because, in the church, each gender has a specific role, which one can not be substituted for the other. Analysis and statistic data of most feminist folks show they have sometimes in the past has gruesome, heartbreaking experience with a male. Well that's another point. Thanks for this review. Congrats to the author on BOTD

It is a good idea to try and contrast modern day gender-equality views to the Biblical view of gender. If done masterfully, this should be an excellent read. Great review.

This is a unique take on the topic of feminism and women rights with regards to the Church. I don't think I'll be able to give my complete attention to the book as I don't usually read such genres. Thank you for the review!

Gender-based discrimination is an important topic to consider, and I can see how such a text could strongly appeal to feminists and theologians alike. Probably not the right sort of book for me, but I greatly appreciate seeing such a thorough and helpful review!

Thanks for the review. It was the most informative. While I find the topic of gender inequality crucial, the context of the book might be lost on me as I am not religious. Hence I will pass this one.

In most countries sexism is a big issue. Women being fired because of a pregnancy is unfortunately a common thing. This book not only adresses that, but also adresses how female rights and equality is connected to Christianity. The author is open minded and I believe this makes the book 100 times better! I personally don't like religion based books, but "The Second Eve" is a unique concept and I would definitely recommend it.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. While I appreciate the subject and attempt to educate the world of women’s roles in a Christian society, I don’t think this book is for me.

I’m not Christian, one of the many reasons being the treatment of women as inferior to men (a problem I have with most forms of organized religion). I think that this book and this interpretation of the Bible could be good for Christianity because it challenges that view, and while it doesn’t changes my personal religious views, I am intrigue in this book because I am curious about the author’s interpretations of different sections of the Bible. Thank you for the helpful review.

Thank you for the review. I have a hard time perceiving the Bible as a piece that promotes equality so his book might be worth looking into.

It's nice to have a book on gender equality from a biblical point of view.
Great review.
