Project Tau by Jude Austin can be introduced as a book of sci fi genre. It has been written, making the readers curious. I'm in the middle of reading. So far the book is very interesting.

I got hooked within the first couple of pages. The way she writes her characters is phenomenal and helps to build the world in a subtle way. 4/4 stars from me!

I am the kind of person who enjoys slow-paced and more descriptive novels so Project Tau is not something I would normally read but I was really intrigued by the idea of cloning and creating projects. I ended up finishing the novel in just two days.

I definitely enjoyed it but I was hoping for a little more depth. I was hoping for Mason to have that 'evil guy' monologue about why he's doing all of this, or maybe more about how the world is functioning with clones and people similar to Tau. Such topics can open many questions and discussions that are very important nowadays and I feel like the book was really one-sided and only presented the 'good vs evil' narrative. But it is also true that it could hardly be any different with people like Dennison around. The most important topic the novel touched was definitely the torture and exploitation of the projects and I loved the part where Kata confronted the scientists about that! And most of all I loved Kata's development as a character, how strong he was becoming and how the anger had changed him.

I can say that the book is very well written and even though it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for I loved reading it!! :D

Even though this isn't a book I would typically read, I am intrigued by the suggestion of one of the readers, claiming that even those who aren't fans of this genre would be pleasantly surprised. The characters sound quite well-developed, and while this book is fictional, I don't think cloning could be that far-fetched in our future.

I enjoyed this book. Following Kalin on his transformation was entertaining and harrowing at the same time. I thought every character was portrayed well.

I have to admit I didn’t enjoy the amount of POV switching that occurs. I’m not against a mid-scene switch when it’s done well. However, when it happens a lot, it takes me out of the book’s world.

This is a 3.5/4—rounded up to a 4/4 because I enjoyed it so much.

I really enjoyed this book. To follow the story of Kata and Tau, two Projects that stick together was a moving story. There was too much foul language for my taste. I also feel that Kata's temper and mouth could have been tamer.

I thought that "Project Tau" was a fun read. I was initially drawn to it because I enjoyed Kazuo Ishiguro's "Never Let Me Go," (which also centers around clones) but I think this made my expectations a little too high. My favorite aspect of the book was Kalin's character development.

I've always had a thing for science fiction. This book seems very interesting. Especially the fact that it is a story about clones. Such an intriguing topic to tackle so props to the author for being able to handle it well.

I have always had a thing for science fiction. This book is very interesting. Especially because it is about such an intriguing topic, 'clones'. For such a hard topic to tackle the author did a really great job of making it their own. This book gets a really high rating from me.

I am not usually a sci-fi fan, but I got attached to the bumbling college nerd who wanted to fit in and got peer pressured by some frat guys to do something stupid. Been there - done that - but at least I didn't end up as a Project. I enjoyed this book and will probably read the sequel.

I found this to be a fun read. I did have a problem with one part of the story. When Reinfeld sent a message to his two friends, I didn't understand why neither one did anything. Sure, the mother of his child left a note for Kata, but other than that nothing happened. I thought Jimmy had some power to help the projects, so I figured he would do something. However, nothing happened from that. To me, it felt like a small plot hole, but I understand that it could just be that the characters decided not to act. That is possible so I can't even fully say that it is a plot hole. It just bothers me. I still gave this book four out of four stars even though this bothered me. I just wish that Jimmy had actually done something.

I haven't started this book, mostly because I began reading Inheritence by Paolini, which is a huge book. From the topics in this Forum though, I might give Project Tau a try. It looks like an engaging read, even if it is part of a series, which I ordinarily avoid. By the way, can anyone tell me if it is a stand-alone?

The most frustrating part of it for me was Kalin's initial ignorance. Like why are you signing a contract given to you by a top secret facility? I was screaming "NO" from my couch.

I want to say that I did like the plot ideas. I love the intrigue and suspense that we feel as soon as we read the first couple of chapters. Seeing such a huge injustice done to the characters can cause us to feel sympathy for them and to want revenge on their behalf. We root for the characters and are left in suspense of what terrible thing will happen to them most. With that being said I am still working through my feelings on the book. I am not sure how I feel about certain aspects of the plot and whether they are all realistic or not.
