Thanks for giving it for free. Although, I feel that I'd have to read the first two books in order to fully understand the series. Thanks for the enticing review. 🙂

I haven't read the first two books. It sounds exciting and riveting. I like that the ending is satisfying and wraps up the trilogy. The historical information included just adds to the appeal.

This historical fiction is the third book in the series. I am the type to start with book one, even if it can be read as a standalone. But this definitely sounds like a book that American history fans will enjoy! Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

While I haven't read the other books, this seems a very interesting book to meld together with other plot points. Historical fiction typically needs a good plot to interest fans, and this seems to succeed depending on your review.

Thank you for the review!

This novel sounds like a captivating, intriguing, and fun book. Going undercover in Mexico and dealing with Mexican revolutionaries and German spies, is definitely a novel I would enjoy reading. As the third book of a trilogy, I plan to read the first two and then jump into this one. I read the sample for this novel, and I was impressed with the author's easy, smooth writing style. For this reason and the excellent review, I look forward to reading the first two books and then The Lost Years of Billy Battles.

When I joined OBC, I wasn't a fan of historical books. However, amazing reviews like this, and the discovery of intense books like Billy Battles have swayed my opinion. I definitely am going to check out the first two books as I agree that Yates has done a great job in creating a suspenseful page-turner.

The story does sound interesting to read. I would have to read the first two books in the trilogy before attempting to read this one though. Thanks for the great review.

I like the fact that one event puts in motion an entire story. This sounds interesting, but I might have a problem with it being the second book.

You certainly sound like you had a great time reading this book. It sounds intriguing and full of action. I am not sure if it can be read as a stand-alone.

What a great-to- read review! I loved your writing style and your descriptions. Billy Battles sounds like an Americans answer to James Bond!

I feel a bit lost when it comes to the plot of the story because I haven't read the first two books. I feel as though I would need to read the first two to fully understand what's happening but with that being said, I think that it would be worth it to take the time to read the entire trilogy as it sounds rather interesting.
