"Beneath the Surface" by Andrew Teague McCollister - Thanks for the in-depth review. The sample that I read was quite short but the way the author's writing talent developed is interesting.

Growing up with issues of sexuality and mental health is always a heavy topic. Glad that he had the best parents though. Thanks for your review!

This reads like a beautifully created heartfelt story. I'm glad that the author addressed the often disregarded subject of mental health.

I always enjoy reading your reviews. Another excellent one. The sample text from the book doesn't give enough information to really get a good sense of what the book is about, so I am relying on the review. But what I saw appeared to be very well written and engaging. It seems to be more of a young adult book for teens.

I read the sample of the book that contained the preface and it immediately grabbed my attention. After reading your review I'm more intrigued to read this book. The way the author has divided his themes within short stories is quite interesting. Will surely add this to my bookshelf. Thank you for the review.

:techie-studyingbrown: I think the book is really a good one and I will surely have it on my collection. Considering the fact that the author covered, some of the very sensitive topic: sexuality; drug abuse; suicide

Short stories do need a lot of input as they have to get the reader right into the story. Moreover, the end has to just fit readers' expectation parameter or even baffle them. This one but the nail on the head. Kudos.

An nice fictional coming-of-age story, which is inspired by the author's life can be found in the book "Beneath the Surface" by Andrew Teague McCollister. The story takes us through the pivotal events of life of Conner Mills in five connected short stories, which depicts the phases of acceptance, mental health, depression, grief, and love.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Sometimes reading the stories of others can be helpful in navigating through life. The heavy topics addressed should be a good source of information to the readers.
