This is a great story as I see. The story address to a lot of crucial themes in life. I appreciate the author's way of addressing the issues in life. However this may not be the book for me due to some themes used in the book. Thank you for a great review.

Depression, suicide and tolerance are not exactly the topics I would like to delve in my current mood. Or ever, if I am truthful. I like to read fiction because it takes my mind from harsh reality, no matter what about you read you always can convince yourself it is just authors imagination. Biography doesn't allow such luxury.

I appreciate McCollister's story and vulnerability in telling the story in print. However, I'll have to pass on this one as the major themes aren't my cup of tea.

From his mom’s secret cancer diagnosis, to his own accomplishments and disappointments in discovering his sexuality along the way, it seems this title offers an authentically varied snapshot of stories. Thanks for sharing your impressions!

This sounds like an interesting coming of age novel. A little too graphic for me so I'll pass. Nice to see more novels giving light to LGBTQ topics.

This is not my kind of book. The author wrote well through, pointing out drug abuse and other things. Thanks for the review.

It's interesting to note how the author has brought about different themes in his life. Love of a mother towards his son is exceptional to the extent of hiding her condition to his son. Interesting book to read.

A delightful first novel with depth not typical of a 100-page work. I was immediately drawn in by the author’s development of Conner, the primary figure in the novel. While my life experiences on many levels have been different, I completely related to Conner’s hopes, anticipations, and sometimes disappointments - as those same emotions connected to my life. McCollister’s novel provided a sensitive and upbeat portrayal of a young man’s experiences that many of us need to understand better.

I really enjoy reading books that tries to relate an author Life experiences and sound like it is very powerful. Life is so difficult for a kid now days and I'm sure these author and subsequent character had much to overcome. I'm going to try.

The book is starts off really interesting, talking about satisfaction. The author quotes his mother and he goes on about things he feels satisfied and unsatisfied with. Also he discusses battles he had with writing and how a creative writing class in college really effected his writing style. While reading I was definitely intrigued and wanted to read more. The topic of satisfaction really drew me into what else the author had to say because it made me think. The author speaks on important topics that should be addressed more. Seems like a very heavy book to get in to. I can say I was very interested to see what was going to happen later on in the book.
