I also think this war was unjust and needless on the part of America. In addition, the church has also to bear the blame for not doing its watch dog role effectively. Thanks for the review.

This sounds like an interesting read. Vietnam was definitely a troubling war and the way we treated our soldiers when they returned had to be difficult for those who served. I can't imagine the things that were asked of these soldiers. This book is definitely worth looking into. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for your review. I have just read and reviewed Something About Ann by J Everett Prewitt which is a fictional collection of short stories. The short stories are about six men and how they try to get on with their lives once returned to the U.S.A. after fighting in Vietnam. I highly recommend it as a good read. There is one novella that starts the book and this is a fantastic story with a great plot twist that I did not see coming. The author is a veteran himself which adds to the way that the stories feel authentic and the characters are believable. I am very interested in the history of warfare and the effect that war has on soldiers. A memoir would be a great investment to read so I will be adding this book to my want to read shelves.

Ya know, after readin' this review about "Alooma," it sure does seem like a good read. The reviewer mentioned that the book is well-written with a compelling storyline, and that it keeps ya engaged till the very end. That's just the kinda book I reckon I'd enjoy sinkin' my teeth into. I appreciate the reviewer keepin' it concise without any fluff, it's nice to get straight to the point. I sure am curious to give "Alooma" a go, it sounds mighty intriguing! Touching resolution, left me feeling deeply satisfied.
