From the looks of it, the book tells horrific acts by an despotic leader and I am looking forward to dig into this novel how good will triumph over evil. I am intrigued by Janneke's character and how she coped and fought the oppression.

this author really tried, what really attract my attention was this It was the night of September the thirtieth, 1994 – the night that would forever change the lives of the people of Putten - when the planned ambush went very wrong. and at the end of the book where the winner wins and the looser loose

An emotional historical fiction book about war crimes in the Netherlands sounds like a fresh premise. I'm fascinated by Nazi-period stories and might enjoy this one. Thank you for the review.

Although I avoid books about war, I can see how hard this must have been for the author to write. Thanks for a great review!

This is a historical fiction story based on fact set during World War II. The Nazis sent all of the men from the town of Putten in the Netherlands to labor camps and destroyed the city. This is a powerful and emotional story. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Great review! Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent job.

I am a sucker for WWII novels, and I have not read a book from this angle yet. It sounds very intriguing!

I like how historical fiction books like this bring to light some of the forgotten or never before known elements of some of the darkest times in our history. Great job with this one.
