I decided to read this book to expand my knowledge as I’m not a very spiritual or religious person. At the time I was feeling quite down and from the first chapter I instantly felt lifted and I knew I had to read more. This book goes through each of the seasons and what they represent, including the times of our life and how to better ourselves during these times.

My first assumption was that the book was going to explore the different religions and the afterlife which it does touch on, but I was pleasantly surprised to see other health and well-being tips such as how to deal with stress, which foods to eat throughout the seasons, how to be more positive etc. This book offers insight in to yoga and meditation with step by step guides for example, Pacholyk tells us to close our eyes and take deep breaths to clear our thoughts and also to practice yoga in the outdoors to be more connected to the Earth. Pacholyk talks in depth about crystals and recommends which ones to use for the different timings of your life. Personally I’m not interested in using crystals however Pacholyk helped me to understand why people enjoy using them and what purpose they serve for those who find benefit in using them.

The key standout out parts of the book was the personal growth sections, Pacholyk explains how important it is to practice self care and gratitude exercises, and he includes some helpful tips such as keeping a worry free journal or gratitude rock. I have included a chapter below which I really enjoyed:

“Appreciate the gift of life: Those who truly do not appreciate their lives are missing out on it. We all have problems. We all have situations we would rather not have to deal with. We all have bad times. By concentrating your thoughts on these negative problems, you run the risk of getting caught up in the swell of spiralling emotions. These thought patterns pull you down like a whirlpool making it even more difficult to get up and get out. Learn to appreciate what you DO have. Be thankful. There are always those who are worse off than you are. When you work from a place of appreciation, it is easier to build a better life from there. Without a doubt, you can gain confidence from loving and accepting the gifts life has afforded you, no matter how small.”

This book would be an excellent read for someone who feels slightly lost as it highlights what is truly important in life, or someone who is looking to broaden their horizons within this topic. It’s a book you can refer back to when you need a pick me up or some advice so I recommend everyone gives it a read. Pacholyk definitely opened my eyes, he taught me how to change my life for the better, from managing finances to unwinding at the end of each day. The content was worded and laid out very clearly so it was easy to read and will be easy to refer back to as everything was formatted in a succinct manner.

Overall, this book has been a joy to read and has offered plenty of advice which I will apply to my everyday life. I rate this book 4 out of 4. After reading Lead us to a place I am keen to read more of Pacholyk’s books as I’m sure his insight will shine through all his work.
