I can be a source of heat transfer,

That one really had me stumped for awhile. My first thought was a squirrel, but I couldn't fit a squirrel with the other clues. I strongly suspected it was an animal though before you mentioned "fur".

OK, here's the new one ...

Nobody wants me.
Even when I am gentle I can still be a real pain.
I usually show up when you are worried about something just to make things worse.
But I can be particularly bothersome in the springtime for some who have no worries at all.
Sometimes I only stay long enough to say Hello, but sometimes, though rarely, I remain for days.
