The USS Christina was ambushed by a hostile ship. The attack forced the USS Christina to crash land on a foreign planet. Cora, the Captain of the ship, ventured into the mysterious world to gather food and water for herself and the crew members. While roaming about, Cora is kidnapped by a gorgeous extraterrestrial named Horok. She doesn’t seem to mind being detained by this handsome hunk as the sparks begin to fly. As their romance ignites, a hostile takeover of the USS Christina is underway. Will Cora’s crew members win the battle? Or will they be taken hostage by cruel aliens? What will happen to Cora and Horok? Can a human and an alien make a relationship work?

His Goddess by D. Morrissey is out of this world, literally and figuratively. I cannot say enough positive things about this book, so I might as well disclose my rating now. Hands down a 4 out of 4. Big shock, I know! As I mentioned, this book is out of this world. The story takes place on an unknown planet. As soon as I began reading, I noticed how phenomenal the world-building was. The author did an amazing job of creating a whole new culture. She included beliefs, traditions, and so on. The author was so detailed that it was easy to visualize the unique planet and to get lost in the story.

Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the quirky and creative scenery. The descriptions of the planet instantly reminded me of Dr. Seuss. How can you not with oxenboor and crowlions roaming the forest? Not to mention the moosquitoes buzzing around! Yes, moosquitoes with antlers!

You would think that because there is such an enormous amount of detail in the world-building that the plot would fall short. Wrong! His Goddess is a love story with suspense and a lot of humor. A perfect trifecta! The setup is also perfect! The entire story is told from the points of view of Cora and Horok. As a reader, you will see the planet through two very different lenses. The differences are quite comical!

Another perk of this book was how well the story flowed. The storyline was effortless as were the transitions between both points of view. Honestly, there was never a dull moment. How can there be with a combination of romance, suspense, and humor? I was even impressed with the conclusion although I didn’t want the story to end. Additionally, the editing was also flawless as I didn’t note a single error.

As for recommendations, I think this book is well suited for a more mature audience because of the erotic content. I think readers that appreciate love stories and suspense would enjoy it. The love story is not traditional by any means but it is cute, quirky, and downright sexy. As a side note, do not let the extraterrestrial element discourage you from grabbing a copy of this book. This is my first read with an alien main character and wasn’t sure what to expect. Obviously, I am now a fan.

Aww. I'd also love to read this love story about a human being and an alien. Will the USS Christina overcome without her Captain? I love this story, hope to read It soon. You did a good job with the review as well. Thank you.

SciFi is really not my cup of tea. But since it was beautifully written, I'm sure a lot of SciFi lovers will snap this book up.

Hostile ambushes, crash landings, foreign planets, gorgeous extraterrestrials, AND antlered moosquitoes?! Now that does sound creatively comical. You've successfully piqued my interest, great review!

I'm not sure about the romance element because it's not my kind of stuff, so I hope that the nontraditional love story told in the novel is original. Otherwise, a science fiction story with twists and humor is intriguing. Thank you for your great review!

I'd really love to learn more about the relationship between Cora and Horok.

In a book with a combination of romance, suspense and humour. What's there not to like about it. Thanks for this inviting review 😊

I find it really thoughtful that the author attempts to reach out to people during this pandemic with this beautifully written book.

And it's not just a book, it's therapeutic too.

Reaching out to people with sleeping disorders and other mental health issues that come with the isolation enforced by governments
