He provides some thought-provoking ideas about Adam, Eve, Lucifer/Satan/snake, the tree of life, through to Noah and the second beginning of the world. I was blown away by his creativity. Nothing to dislike. 4 out of 4 stars.
His creativity is no doubt admirable. A part from the ideas about these characters, I also liked that he takes the readers through their personal thoughts, the unspoken words. This gives as a clear view of who these characters really are.

I'm a Christian. While most Christians believe that the Bible is complete, they acknowledge the fact that not all the events are recorded in the Bible. In fact, at some point, even the Bible says that if all events were to be recorded, they would fit in the Bible. I think they aren't justified to hate this book based on that reason.

Readers know it. Authors know it. Publishers know it. A promising review sells books! :roll2:
I agree that the author is very creative in his attempts to fill the gaps left by the biblical stories. I wasn't dissatisfied either.

Tieman's writing is appealing, full of details, human emotions, and conversations. I also like that he uses Bible passages as the foundation of the story and includes them throughout the book. I haven't finished it, but so far I would give it 4 out of 4 stars.
To add on your list, he even occasionally quotes the biblical, adding a few verses here and their to keep the reader on track. This is surely a nice book.

I agree. I still love the book, but there are a lot of fundamentalists out there who won't.
Yeah. A lot of people won't find it appealing, especially those who might think that the author quoted the Bible out of context. But I'm sure they'll enjoy it anyway.

I've finished reading it. Indeed the creativity is interesting. I'm sure you'll love it after you finish reading it too.

True. It's amazing how he followed through the story without interfering with the original context. This creativity must surely be appreciated.

Chipochashe wrote: 03 Jun 2020, 20:16 I rated the book 3 out of 4 stars due to errors. On a purely fictional basis, the book makes a good read. It is not accurate as far as biblical doctrine is concerned.
I agree with you. It only derives its storyline from the biblical stories. But looking at it in a spiritual level, it's very inacurate.

This book seems a filler for the Bible but I had some issues with Adam abandoning Eve when they were banished from the Garden of Eden. I liked how Lucifer was depicted as he changed into a monster.

It's great that you feel that way! Check out the 'child of the sun'. It's about Samson. Check out my review of the book.

Is it just me who is skeptical about the book? Haha, the humanized perspective of the Godhead by allowing Him to feel worried and doubt feels wrong. Plus if your faith is shaky, or you are a young Christian, does it have any negative impact on your spiritual growth?
