Another applicable verse is Luke 13: 26-27 Then shall ye begin to say, we have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

I take solace in God's word found in Isaiah 59:1 "Look! The hand of Jehovah is not too short to save, nor is his ear too dull to hear."

Exactly... this verse explains how people will eventually be shocked to learn that they were not worshipping God the way he wanted to be worship, not the way they deemed fit. This is very important so that we can wisely use this time that his judgement hasn't arrived to examine our worship and make sure it conforms to his standards. We must examine our beliefs and religious teachings and make sure they tally with God's word, not those of men.

We don't want Jehovah to say what's in Isaiah 65: 1, 2 and chap 66: 3 about us which reads in part, "...They have chosen their own ways...they kept doing what was bad in my eyes and they chose to do what displeased me."

We must be careful that the observances and holidays we engage in are not mere traditions of men.

I loved how the book had back up Scripture. "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18)".
This was one verse i connect to and paused for a while to meditate on it.
