I agree with you. I thought the same when I read the title. When I went to the page of the book, it showed historical fiction. It was when I studied the hashtags below, I came to know that it's a religious book.

I found the title fitting. this is because it was Abel's death that led to the curse of Cain. the latter's decision to elope and start a city contributed to the destruction of the world as portrayed by the author. The immorality that plagued Nod must have angered the Creator.

The book title does not cover all the book is about but, it is catchy.

The title, in my opinion, refers to the widespread corruption of man that started with that first murder, because he would not repent and sacrifice to God to ask for forgiveness. All the wickedness can be linked back to Killing Abel, and the people who followed his way of life increasingly became more and more wicked, until God destroyed them with the flood.

The title was definitely appropriate. The first thing it does is capture the readers eye. It also focuses on the first death on earth and the circumstances surrounding it. As the story goes on more deaths are witnessed due to human greed, desperation among others. Symbolism of other Abel's losing lives.

The Title is captivating. Personally, I can't come up with a better title for the book. I 'think Killing Abel' is a perfect title for the book

I loved the title and I feel it is relevant because the story of Abel certainly is the root of most parts of it. Like after Abel was killed, the entire book that spoke about Cain kept referring to the killing of Abel.

I actually thought that it would be some sort of an crime action type of book basing on the title. The title is unique and all but since its a religious book, personally I think the author should change it

I love the title of the book and I think the author decided to give that title to book because the death of Abel caused a lot of pain both in heaven and in Adam's square

I didn’t like the title of the book, it made it seem more like a horror book than anything else.

I think it was the perfect title. The act of Killing Abel Is the focal point of the book. It is also the essence of the book's narrative i.e. an account of the fall of man due to original sin and what this led to and its consequences. Note that, according to the author, the killing of Abel was worse than the original sin of eating the fruit. I agree that it was worse but I'm not sure that its impact was greater than that of the original sin. According to the author, the very act of killing Abel transformed the world i.e. led it to be destroyed by God in the flood.
The act of killing Abel is at the centre of the book. It gives a backstory to what led to it i.e. original sin and then informs us of the literal world-changing consequences of the act of the killing of Abel and the blood that cried out for vengeance from the ground. According to the author, it seems he believes the act was of greater consequence than that of the first sin... and hence the 'Killing Abel' title for the book centres around this action and not necessarily the original sin, despite the latter birthing the succeeding events.

As someone who's not really familiar with the stories in the Bible, I can say that it was really difficult to surmise what the book was about from the title. It would have helped if the author used a more general title, instead of something so specific.
