Great review, but not into Sci-Fi fantasy. So I’ll take a pass on this one.

Those two inconsistencies concerning Queen Aerietta make me wonder as well. I hope Reid fixed them up with a believable explanation. I do have my copy of the book; maybe the issue has been addressed now, almost four years later.

Crown Of Crimson depicts the story of Aerietta Elony , The Queen of Crimson who was destined for evil. Born into Royalty, it was quickly discovered that she bore the mark of Jezdah, an intricate tattoo, which meant to identify the children of the Elements. To make sure his people never knew about rhe danger, that hid in their midst, the king had his daughter sent to the leader of Cannon, to learn how to assassinate like they did.

No one was supposed to know what Aerietta was all about or what she was designed to be. She never worried of discovering her secrets, but when the neighboring kingdom attacks, and Aerietta is betrayed, and captured, keeping her secrets would have meant all the difference between life or death.

When the king of the neighboring land ask her to track down one of her traitor companions, she has no choice than to accept. In order to find her former friend and return to the king with her shoulders, she'll have to keep the enigmatic, inhuman swordmaster in the dark, which was differcult. The only thing that Aerietta feared is herself.

I love books with strong female protagonists, but I also prefer my books to stand alone and not be part of a series. Therefore, I am torn with this one. Wonderful review, though!

For those looking for a new dystopian fantasy series, Crown of Crimson sounds like a great addition to a to-read list.

Good review! I liked your honest opinion, because I hate when they describe a character like a super genius and badass and then when something important happen, they do nothing. I don't think I could read this book without feeling angry

Great review! I'm marvelled at how such a strong female character is easily deceived by men. Well, every protagonist has flaws. I'm not a fan of dystopian fantasy but this story has piqued my interest. Congrats on BOTD!

A very strong and passionate female character, ready to carry out her task no matter the consequences. Female with passion should stand up to their task focusing at the future gain. Kudos to the author. Congrats on BOTD.

Despite the minor discrepancy in character depiction, I want to read the book, still. Fantasy is a genre I enjoy and the novel seems promising.
