I thought it was a fantastic book that really draws on the author’s imagination to enrich the bible stories. I think I would recommend it to everyone but state clearly that it is a work of fiction and not to be confused with the bible. 4 out of 4 stars.

The book looks interesting. As a Christian, do you think this book would inspire me in a religious way or is simply a good read? Also, how can I get a copy of the book?

After reading the sample pages I can say I have no interest in finishing this book. The writing isn’t great, but that’s not really the issue for me. I’m so familiar with the book of Genesis that I can’t help getting distracted by the differences Tieman came up with for his story. I don’t have any objections to this, I just don’t think I could be pulled into this story.

Wow, looks interesting. Adding story at what was already written, especially the Bible, will be intriguing like Da Vinci's Code.

The plots in Killing Abel has not changed a single context in the words of the Bible, but the author's imagination fills in the gaps which led to difficult acknowledgement to some of the readers of the Bible. I really think this is the book is amazing, that is why I will rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I have just finished reading the book, and I have mixed feelings about it. I found a section in the middle that seemed to have been skipped by the proofreaders - there were lots of errors, especially comma errors. That was a distraction to me. After that section, it was fine again. The author's depiction of the trinitarian God-head bothered me because it seemed at times that the three persons were at odds with each other, and definitely not omniscient. There were also sections that seemed to ramble on and on in explaining the author's viewpoint. That being said, I did enjoy many of the creative parts in which the author fleshed out the personalities of the characters. Sorry, my rating is 3 out of 4 stars.

I agree! I think Tieman did a fantastic job with creating new stories where gaps were created by the original writers of scripture. For me personally, it did change some of the mystery surrounding events in the Bible, especially within the Old Testament, but I have a deeper understanding of Christianity now because of Tieman's intriguing novel!

Killing Abel was the recent book I read and no jokes, I did like the writing and the author's thought about the beginning of the world. The book is about the story of Adam and Eve, their children, and their whole life in general.
At some point, I began getting lost in some spiritual concepts. I believe this is just the author's perception of the story in Genesis and not necessarily the correct explanation. I would definitely recommend this book to fiction Christian story lovers. It received a 3 out of 4 stars from me.

This book that's about the begining of the world. The book gives three different story about biblical events. I enjoyed the story of Adam and Eve and also Noah and the ark. The rating was perfect and I recommend this book to people who enjoy religious books.

Katie Canedy wrote: 01 Jun 2020, 17:21 The fact that the author was able to fill in the gaps using the human imagination was relieving in a way. I feel that the Bible does leave out the "nitty-gritty" if you will. I rate it 4 out of 4 stars. :)
This is what makes me interested in reading this book. I've always been curious about what really happened throughout the Bible's history concerning those missing gaps, as I'm sure other people are, and while this is a fictional account, it still seems to be satisfying! I think I'll read it soon enough :)

Sounds like an interesting read to put fictional stories into the empty stories within the Bible allowing the characters to become alive.

This is the beauty of a book when imagination is injected into it. Very appealing.
