A nice fictional adventure story with essence of danger, suspense, romance, and mystery is nicely presented in the book "Zona: The Forbidden Land" by Fred G. Baker. The story revolves around Grant Taylor, a university professor, who is on a pursuit to find his missing uncle who had gone to expedition into an unknown and forbidden zone near Siberia. The story appears quite gripping.

It sounds like a well-written mystery. One of my paternal great-grandfathers was Lithuanian and he was a Lieutenant in the Czar's army before the coup. I've always been fascinated by the history of Russia and the USSR.
