Normally I would enjoy this type of book, based on my background and personal interest in religious history. But after reading the review and sample pages, I would agree with the reviewer that it needs a more thorough edit. Nevertheless, I hope that the author finds an appreciative audience. This historical fiction book sounds great. I'm usually more interested in novels with more action, but this one talks about some interesting themes. Intriguing indeed. It is exciting to find out how Beth and René handled the situation; their struggle in dealing with their dilemma of whether they will stick to their vows and how great of a feeling they had when they decided to follow their heart. Having a loving family maybe was their true calling, but I'd love to find out what struggles and inner conversations they had with themselves to come up with their decision. I've read very few stories involving nuns. This one sounds a bit slow, but interesting. The characters are developed and unique, but the editing needs work.
