Official Review: Before I Was Born by Corey Anne Abreau
Before I was Born is a children’s book written by Corey Anne Abreau. The book is about a baby narrating all the stages of its growth to the outside world.
This book is a story of a baby talking from the womb. The baby describes all the changes that happen to it while it is in the womb for nine months. Each month it develops new features and can perform different actions. The baby tells about everything it can do and fell during each month of pregnancy. The baby compares its size to different fruits each month.
This is a lovely book that an expecting mother or father can share with their children. What I liked most about this book is that it is a playful way of involving children in the birth of their sibling. The different growing stages of the baby are described by comparing the size of the baby to different fruits. This is a great way of keeping the children engaged as they can imagine the size of the baby. I think that the idea of the baby talking about itself and telling about all the things it can do and feel is simply adorable. This book will help children develop a bond with the baby before it is born.
There is nothing that I dislike about this book. It has bright and adorable pictures of the fetus during each month of the pregnancy that children can relate too. The rhyming sentences in the book give it a musical touch, and you can read it as a song to your children.
This book is well-written and professionally edited. I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book for children ages 4-7years. It can also be read aloud to younger children. This book is a must-have if you have young children and are expecting a baby. It is a perfect baby shower gift.
