Yes, that scene makes the character of the protagonist more relatableChristieee wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 00:15 I think that sex scenes appeal to certain readers, especially when it is written with finesse. While it is not compulsory for there to be sex written into a book, it adds to the general flavor of the text, and as such, is necessary in my opinion. Also, wanting sex is a natural thing for both men and women, so, depicting Grant as a regular hot-blooded male only makes him more relatable.

I agree with you that sex is natural occurrence.Carennkemdiala wrote: ↑02 Jul 2020, 02:47 I would be dishonest if I said that the sex scenes in the book were totally unnecessary. For me, sex is a natural occurrence and everyone would normally have urges, it’s now left for you as a person to decide to physically get involved sexually or not. So generally, I think it was just normal for Grant as a young guy to have sex even amidst the quest of finding his Uncle. The book is a good read.

Yes, maybe the author's pure idea was to depict the human instinctsgabrielletiemi wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 06:34 In my opinion, the author portrayed the human nature. Even if Grant didn't have the time for sexual encounters, it seems understandable to me that he neglected other things to attend tris need. Even if it wasn't necessary for his mission.

It is a natural occurrence, that is true. Yet the issue is with the situation in which it happenedDunamis_James wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 07:13I agree with you that sex is natural occurrence.Carennkemdiala wrote: ↑02 Jul 2020, 02:47 I would be dishonest if I said that the sex scenes in the book were totally unnecessary. It can't be labeled unnecessary. Yet it is difficult to say that it is necessary as well for the plotHonest-reviewer wrote: ↑11 Jul 2020, 07:59 I’ve not read the book yet, but all I can say is, sex is a physiological thing and the urge is quite natural. So I think it is not unnecessary.
