Nice review, ALynnPowers. Appreciate the effort. I am able to grasp the essence of the book very well. The book, rather the book of poems is an artistically presented dimensional experience. The lyrics in Adulting are thoughtfully presented in five themes: longing, learning, womanhood, identity, and character, is a beautiful collection of poems reader ought to visualize the journey of the poet, in the character the Author narrative in every prose. Wish to go through in full.

This book of poetry and prose is definitely an interesting one. I love it that her poems flow easily along with the theme. A talent for creating a scene an added advantage of this author. However, I'm not a fan of this genre.

The biggest downside of the book, for me, was that the title was a bit misleading. While the book does mention “adulting” a few times within some of the poems, I think that the author's concept of this word and my own personal concept are vastly different. I was really expecting something more whimsical, perhaps a little silly at times, to comment on the minor day-to-day inconveniences of being an adult millennial. While there are quite a few “coming of age” types of experiences in the book, I can safely say that none of them are whimsical or silly. In fact, they are all completely the opposite.

From the title, I was expecting something very different too. But I guess adulting can also be having your childhood cut short by such harrowing events as the ones you mentioned.

Even though the title really had my attention, I do not know what my expectations were. I know I wasn't expecting it to be poetry. I was disappointed to learn that as poetry is not my thing. I'm not currently looking for a book of poetry. Still, this one sounds well-written with a lot of relatable content for young women. I agree that the title is a bit misleading since "adulting" has a particular connotation.

This book pays homage to young women Globally who would be brave enough to write the many views and opinions away or audacious enough to write some joy into their life.
