This review really helped me gauge if this book is for me. I have not read poetry books voluntarily and don't think I am a "poetry person" which made me hesitant to even read a bit of it. After reading the sample, I actually really liked her style of poetry and the subject matter of each one. Thank you for this amazing review!

When I first read the title I was not expecting to read a review about a book of poetry. My initial reaction was that this was probably a book about a young teenager going through the perils of adulthood. However, I still am intrigued by this book. Creating vivid scenes is challenging on itself when you're writing a fiction or non-fiction book, but I'd love to see how the author managed to create images using a limited number of words. Overall, I think I'd really like to read this book. Thanks for an amazing review!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I read the title. Having read your review and a few pages of the book, I now think it's quite appropriate. I don't read much poetry, but I thoroughly enjoyed what I've read so far. Your review makes me want to read more. I think I can gloss over the graphic sex scenes mentioned in the review although, at this stage, it's hard to see why they're necessary. Well done to the author on winning BOTD and thanks for a great review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting collection of poetry focusing on topics such as motherhood, longing, character and identity. While poetry might not be everyone's favorite genre/style, it is definitely worth a second look. Well done.

It’s a great review. I would love to read the book. It contains poems and the poems are related to the authors real life. It’s well written that we can imagine the scene. Some serious topics are discussed in this. I would love to complete the book.

I agree with you that the title led me to believe this would be poems about daily challenges we all face as adults. Instead, it talks of inner struggles and some dark topics such as rape and death. I like the free style of poetry because it is easy to read and understand. I also like the flow of the poems. It seems as if the author is
baring her soul through the poems. But I'm really not a fan of poetry. So, I am going to pass on this book. Good luck with it. Thanks for the great review. Congratulations on BOTD.

I would say judging by the title, I expected the book to be funny and an entertaining read. But the book seemed to be the total opposite of the image I conjured in my mind. Even, it's much better. I'm sure that the author's experiences of adulting in such a young age would be eye-opening. Thank you for this brilliant review!

The title sounds completely different from the content, but the good thing is that the poems are good. Thanks for the review.
