No I wouldn't. With each their own, I think? If the scenes bother you just skip them especially if the rest of the story works for you.
As for authors attracting readers through sexual content. My thoughts are, no author writes for nobody to read their work

You are hilarious. Does that mean this is a preference that developed with time?

It must be because it didn't used to bother me!

It is true when thinking in the view of the big picture. But the simple question is, is it necessary for this particular plotNedbrian wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 08:57 I couldn't help but reply this post. From my perspective, the human race would have stopped to exist if sex was taken as unnecessary. If procreation did not occur, we would not have the scientist that would have thought of developing systems that do not favour sex for procreation. Thus, I would surmise that sex is a high necessity of the human nature. It is an important prerequisite for the survival of not just humans but other creatures

Its use is not prohibited. But definitely it should be appropriate as well as balancedJen Kamish wrote: ↑18 Jul 2020, 15:29 I think that sex has to be balanced with a compelling storyline or else it comes off as voyeuristic and simply existing for the purpose of creating an erotic vibe. I have not read this book yet, but I will be curious to see how I feel about the role of sex in the story after doing so.

If he used it as a coping mechanism, then its use is reasonable. But apparently he has needed too much copingMichelle Fred wrote: ↑19 Jul 2020, 06:46 While sex might be the last time on some people's mind during stressful situations, it's a coping mechanism for others. Having sex might have been Grant's way of dealing with the situation without going insane. Bearing that in mind, I don't think including sex in the plot is out of context.

I couldn't agree with you more.Grant was experiencing the power of his sexuality. Its absolutely normal for the young chap to have desire for sex as he continued with his mission of looking for his Uncle. For sure the book is quite engaging.Carennkemdiala wrote: ↑02 Jul 2020, 02:47 I would be dishonest if I said that the sex scenes in the book were totally unnecessary. For me, sex is a natural occurrence and everyone would normally have urges, it’s now left for you as a person to decide to physically get involved sexually or not. So generally, I think it was just normal for Grant as a young guy to have sex even amidst the quest of finding his Uncle. The book is a good read.

Yes it is. Grant consumed his young energy. But was that really necessary for the development of the plotgatuguta2030 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2020, 11:16I couldn't agree with you more.Grant was experiencing the power of his sexuality. Having fun when having more important goals to achieve is not niceEdiomis_Enwongo01 wrote: ↑19 Jul 2020, 13:45 Despite the fact that there is always a natural instinct for sex, that of Grant was too much considering the task that was before him.
