I went through a period of reading books that were on the best seller list. A lot of them were terrible! Don't know how they became best sellers. Now I just read books that are recommended by friends or classics on the Kindle.jeyushka wrote:The best way to find the next book to read is the word of mouth , recommendations on Goodreads, not paid praise by the media; then one can check out the recommended shortlist by reading synopsis and first page on the Amazon

I dont care for them either! As silly as it sounds, I like to look at the thickness of Margaret Mitchells' "Gone With the Wind" or Anne Rices' "The Witching Hour" and know that I took the time to read these books. It gives me a weird sense of accomplishment, lol. Not everybody has the time and more so the Patience to read such books. I also like having my books on hand in case I want to review a chapter or remember a name, location etc.... So in a nutshell, I am an old school book worm!!!

I also worry about losing an e-reader or damaging it with coffee or red wine. I suppose that one day I'll sucumb. Right now, I like to buy most of my books from a local used book store where I return them for credit when I'm finished. That way, I keep them for as long as I want, don't have to worry about losing them, and I recycle.
I AGREE!!! There's nothing like turning the actual pages of a book! As silly as it sounds, I have a slight sense of accomplishment every time I finish a long/heavy novel ie, Gone With The Wind,The Witching Hour or War and Peace. I also agree that each book has its own feel, font and identity. Its kinda like books are just like people. Each unique and beautiful in its own classic way..... Oh Yeah... Im a book nerd, lol
