As a reader who is sensitive towards themes of racism, child abuse, police brutality, terrorism, homosexuality, to least but a few, I might skip this book. However, the presentation of music by Jamal and Irith as a possible tool for promoting peace, unity and coexistence, makes me want to reconsider my decision; I wonder want the outcome of their struggles will be.
Thanks for an appetizing review 😆😆😆

Irith and Jamal are more than an opera-singing duet, they are a symbol of people's wish for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict to end. I'm wondering what happens to the two teenagers and how their families and society influence their destinies. Thanks for a great review!

Operation Olive Tree by Jemil Metti sounds like an interesting novel, basing it's narration from the Israelite grounds. Although its an historical story, it's an amazing expectation!
Thanks for the well-written review!

Thanks for the great review! I love historical fiction. This sounds like an interesting story as well as being complex. I am going to add this one to my list to read later!

Sounds interesting. However, I'd have liked to see some comments on the historical aspects of the story in addition to the ones the review makes on relationships between characters.

While I have read and heard about the tensions/strife between Israel and Palestine, I truly don't understand the cause. I have added this book to my reading list. Great review!

Having read this well-written review,. I have no doubt that is a great historical nobel, fully packed with actions. The setting of the story could easily convince me to add this book to the list of a must-read books, hopefully, I will enjoy it.

The story of Irith and Jamal, a Jewish and a Palestinian girl, caught in the middle of a of the conflict in Israel, and used as pawns, sounds intriguing. In countries such as Israel, on the forefront of violence all the time, life is a lot different than it is in normal western countries. I can remember Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and it was very similar to Israel. Certainly, this sounds interesting, and I will be interested to see the plot of this story. The review was very interesting to read.

I love reading a book like this. Love is the important ingredient we need in the world today, but it surprises me how people use politics, selfish gain and religious diversity to kill this ingredient. Nice review by the way.

It hurts much to know that you are just being considered as a pawn in something you thought you are highly valued . I can imagine how the two guys reacted when they discovered that they were just being used as pawns. Very interesting plot, thanks for the informative review.

The storyline of this book sounds interesting but I'll pass it because I don't really like historical fiction genres. Thanks for the review.
