The story is really interesting, it showcases the time of World War and also shows how the lives of the people transformed, I am really looking forward to read it.

This historical fiction book sounds like an excellent one to read if unfamiliar with the invasion of Poland under the Nazi regime. I will have to pass educational story because it feels to close to home that which is occurring in the United States right now. Great review!

The author chose an interesting title "Chameleons" these creatures are known for their ability to blend with their surroundings. In an era where the future looked dim, Grandpappy Harran wisdom to teach his grandaughter Brygida ways to survive in the event of German invasion could definitely use the tactics of adapting to the current circumstances just like a chameleon. Great review.

War fiction is not my cup of tea, especially books about World War II. Those were harsh times, besides the book has graphic depiction of torture and execution which is not for my "faint heart", so I'll pass this time. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

I'm glad you enjoyed this book.

The story sounds both fascinating and tragic because we know today that the Nazis did horrible experiments on twins. It would be insightful to analyze realistic descriptions of what took place in Poland during that era.

Maybe I will take a look at this book in the future.

I love historical fiction books about WWII. I find them to be an interesting way of learning about this event. Thank you for writting about the details that you mention in the last paragraph. It's a great way of avoiding unpleasent surprises in a book.

The fact that the writer is very gifted in storytelling as evidenced by how aptly he immerses readers into the characters inner emotions and the gruesome experiences they had in the hands of the Nazi's guard, is quite laudable. Congratulations.

A historical fiction that deals with heavy truth of Germans against Jews. This is a hard-read, but worth it.

I enjoy historical fiction related to WWII, because I find the stories of survival against all odds so interesting. These terrifying reminders of history past are humbling. I really appreciated your review, I’m even more intrigued to finish reading the remainder of this book, which I purchased today.

I'd definitely like to learn more about the Nazi invasion of Poland and the fate of the Jewish Poles. I'm happy the book has great descriptions, realistic dialogues, and relatable characters. Thanks for a wonderful review!

the book is novel. The author has given a beautiful art story about the past life that the Jews went through in Germany. The author tells us that Grandpappy discovers the plans of the Germans to destroy and annihilate the Jews on the face of the earth. grandpappy prepares his grandson so that he can help his fellow Jews to be destroyed. The book has a good story that has brought me back to Nazi rule.

Excellent review! I’m sorry but I can’t read another book about the nazis and the killing of 6 million Jews! What a terrible time.

A gripping historical fiction book is what I'd love to peer into. This sounds like an interesting tale of Nazi invasion in Poland. Unfortunately, the "graphic depiction of torture and execution" puts me off. I'm not sure if I will read the book. Congratulations on being the BOTD though.
