The Girl Who Loved Caravaggio by Belle Ami is an amazing novel full of mystery and romance. The plot of the book goes back and forth between the 16th century and the present days. This book narrates an intriguing tale of two love birds who worked together trying recover a stolen painting.

Angela Renatus was a great art historian. She had the ability to see into the past. Angela was living with her fiancé Alex Caine in Florence. Alex was a private investigator. The two had a deep connection to each other and they worked together. They were given the job to trace a Caravaggion masterpiece that was stolen from the church. The painting was probably stolen by the Italian mafias. Alex and Angela were also planning on getting married therefore they had to fly to United States to meet Angela’s parents. As the story unfolds, we meet other love birds Caravaggio and Fillide. The two were also attached the Caravaggio was annoyed with what Rannucio did to Fillide in the past. Unfortunately, they did a revenge and Rannucio ended up losing his life. They escaped to keep themselves safe. During the time of hunt of the stolen painting, Alex started having dreams about Caravaggio’s life. He wondered what this meant. Will Angela and Alex be able to recover the caravaggion masterpiece?

I liked this book so much since it has discussed so many themes including romance and suspense. Furthermore, Belle Ami did a great job on research since this book has given vivid description of different places and cities in the world. By use of deep descriptive language and dialogues the author has described all the series of events that took place in the novel. I also found it interesting that the author has intertwined many stories in one book without interfering with the plot of the story. I think the author is nerd. Moreover, this book stands alone since I was able to understand it and I haven’t read any other book in the Out of Times Series.

What I disliked about this novel was the ending, it was abit loose since the author did not solve many conflicts in the novel. The book has also use of Italian language that was not translated and this gave me a hard time to understand. However, this book is well edited since it has no grammatical or spelling error. Therefore, irate this book 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to lovers of historical fiction, romance and suspense stories. This book has some sexual scenes therefore it should be strictly be read by adults.
