This mystery novel about a haunting presence at a lake sounds great; I may give this one a look. Thanks for the review, Julia. :techie-studyingbrown:

Good review. The facts that there are few violence and gruesome descriptions that some, including me, readers may find disturbing. And since I'm not fan of mystery, suspense, or horror genres, I will probably not appreciate reading this narrative. But nice review anyway.

An intelligent writing, one that has the readers know about the happenings before the characters do. I think the book is a thriller and thoughtful too.

Decker lake sounds like a hunted place. I wonder who or what makes it spooky. This sure sounds like a good read. Thanks for this review.

Its a great story with unusual ending but most of all I like the plot of the story which is complex and unique .The author has an admirable creative power and I am looking forward to another book if there is.

It's an interesting choice to put the readers in the know and the characters not. I can see how it would add to the suspense. Intelligence is a big complement for an author. It sounds like he put his all into this one. Thanks for the review.

Already read this book and my overall opinion - good enough, but not outstanding. Mostly because I really like studying psychological aspect of human nature in isolated groups of people. I can't call plot overly original, but it definitely has some merits. Left me with good impression.

While I'm super interested in the way the author lets the reader in on what's happening to the town, I think this one is too scary for my liking. Additionally, I hope it goes through another round of editing, because it otherwise sounds like a fantastic read for lovers of the genre!

I always like a good story, though not a keen fan of mystery, but genius challenges me. I look forward to reading this book.

Another book to look out if you are into suspense/mystery kind of book. What adds to the cake is that the main character is a retired Senior citizen, an unlikely person to be inquisitive. But I guess anyone who unexpectedly stumble to what George stumbled upon will also act like him. Thank you for the honest review esp in pointing out the imperfections of this intriguing story. Keep it up!

Long dialogue to me also is usually boring too, but as you stated in your review this might not be the same. I would like to read it to confirm that. Great review.

Great review.
This book seems intriguing. However, I don't think if it's my kind of genre. Congratulations to the author on BOTD.

The notion of being in the know while the characters are in the dark appeals to me as a reader, but I'm not entirely sure I would enjoy this book. All the same, thanks for an interesting review.

This #BOTD mystery thriller sounds interesting. When I read books that narrrated as an inside view, I tend to yell at the characters (in my mind) not to go there because a predator is gonna get you! Too bad the book needs another round of editing.

This book normally wouldn't stand out to me, but your comments about it being so intelligent are enticing. I love characters with depth, which this novel seems to have. Psychological elements are fascinating to me as well. Too bad about the editing issues - I noticed a few just in the sample. Thanks for the recommendation!
