Reading the title of the book aroused my poetical literacy, but as I turned the pages found this a fantastic story that uses a device like Alexa in a humouristic way.

I was interested in this book based on it being a modern-day fairytale, but the fact that the main character experiences so much growth is even more enticing. Fairytales don’t typically delve too deep into a character’s inner turmoil.
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

Body image misconceptions and self-criticism is getting more common especially amongst teenagers and young adults. I love that the author creatively tried to solve a major problem in the society.

The part about Alexa telling the main character how to help herself sounds unique and creative. I’ll check it out.

Help comes in many forms. If you know that you don't know then you will know that even a stone can come to life. Sometimes we block knowledge and shout it out of our cognitive sphere. Great narrative.

Official Review: Mirror, Mirror...? by Dodie Meister is a fair introduction to the story of the book for readers! The story line has been explained clearly to readers! The sub-themes of the story have been mentioned with precision! The point in the review that the transformation of the female protagonist happens right before the reader's eyes is appreciable! I like the way the reviewer relates the book to larger issues!

I think if my Alexa started autonomously talking to me, I'd probably grab it and throw it against the nearest wall, no matter how helpful it was trying to be! That said, the story seems to communicate lessons every woman needs to hear about positive self-image and satisfaction with one's life. Cheers for Milly even if she did have to get a serious nudge from her "Fairy Godmother" Alexa to get started. Excellent review, I enjoyed reading your insightful comments on the book.

Wow, gorgeous book, there are lots of ways to get help and not necessarily from another person.Modern day technology and other means of self help work without the backlash of telling others about it.The book is interesting . Congrats on being BOTD.
:D I believe in love

Wow! I loved the theme of the book. Almost everyone suffers or has suffered from body image misconceptions and self criticism. Me being one of them. As the book gives positive message regarding the issue, I would love to give this book a read. Thanks for the great review. :)

This book sounds like a fun read. It takes very real issues that many middle aged women have and adds fun fantasy to the plot. It’s unfortunate the editing doesn’t seem to be professionally done. That usually turns me off from a book immediately. However, I’m willing to try this one because of the fantasy plot.

A modern day version of the evil queen, except the hero and the cillian are the same person, fighting to see the light within herself. This book sounds like a wonderful interpretation on self image
Do you ever feel like you spend too much time reading? Yeah. Me neither.

What a fascinating premise. It sounds like mid-life Milly is in great and desperate need of a transformative intervention and her autonomously evolving Alexa seems to be the perfect life coach! Thank you for the informative review.
