Deviating from the traditional protagonist-antagonist structure, Duggin uniquely weaves a plot with overlapping relationships between Catherine, Donald, and Steven. None of these three central characters is necessarily evil. Each is hurting, lost, and seeking for better. In short, they are all functional but flawed. Steven is a dreamer – that talented but a little strange university professor. On the other hand, Donald is a no-clue-why-I am-to-blame workaholic. These, and some supporting characters are very relatable.

I love this because in real-life circumstances are often some shade of gray, not black and white. People have good and bad aspects, and conflicts have many subtle nuances.
This was a superb review, a genuine pleasure to read it. Congratulations!

First off, you reviewed this book in the perfect way I wish all my reviews were written. I want to read this book because I have to know what every character did in this situation. While this is a fiction book, it seems to be replaying life events I have gone through.

Seemingly a nice psycological fiction, with some hard and new words to be learnt and added to the vocabulary. Thanks for the nice and descriptive review 👍👍

Main characters who are flawed or vulnerable make a book easier to relate to. I enjoyed reading your review as it was both detailed and insightful. Good job!

This seems like an interesting drama. Tho I find it quite uncomfortable to read books that are heavy on words. It usually affects the pace of reading it.
Nice review tho. You clearly stated your likes and dislikes to give an idea of what we are going into.

Honestly, I thought the same too. The title sounds sloppy and catchy at the same time. It eventually turned out to be a different thing. Nice one!

I love a good character-driven story, and this one seems to tick all the boxes. It's great to see lifelike, flawed characters, who are still relatable and perhaps even likeable. Thanks for the insightful review!
