Great review, but I don't think this book is for me. I am definitely not into politics or becoming a nun in the church.

Sounds interesting for those that like historical novels. Unfortunately, it just wouldn't be my cup of tea simply because the storyline sounds typical i.e. she joint the convent and met a father that they nearly broke their vows etc. I see that as predictable and that is what put me off. While, the idea it's a true story excites me, I am just in the least interested in the plot. It doesn't give me much to want to read. Is it a book that deals with family issues? If so, to what extent?

What a change from a farm girl to a nun. Father Rene' makes her uncomfortable since he seems to like the women. She has had no experience with boys or men. We can assume she will probably succumb to his charms and break her vows. I will have to read the rest of the book to find out.

I read the Amazon preview which was only about 30 pages. I suspected it wouldn't have much action overall, but I had hoped it would have some interesting historical points given the period. Not sure yet if this is a book I would continue, though I am interested in the relationship set-up between her and the priest and where it will go. I'll see.

Putting together Beth's life, one can depict that she has really been through a lot. To affirm this I'll have to go through it.
Thanks for the review.

The plot is thought-provoking. What truly happens if Beth betrays her vows? I admire this novel storyline. Thank you.

Now this gets me intrigued on the reason why Beth became a nun, was it because she had no where else to go or because she had a calling for it? And what happens to her's and Fathers vows.. i want to find out. Thanks for the review, will sure read it one day!

A question I look forward to its answer whenever I pick up this book to read is whether or not Beth finally broke her marriage vows? The storyline of this book is indeed compelling. Congratulations on being BOTD.

Seeing the title 'Deceitful Survival', then seeing the picture of a Nun upon opening the review spoke to me instantly that an element of suspense would be added to this book. I like that Beth was capable of fleeing abuse at such a young age and was brave enough to set her life in motion by becoming a Nun. The idea that this is based on a true story makes it all the more intriguing. Thanks for the sweet review.

I'm not sure I can cope with a sketchy beginning of an historical plot, but the promise of action intrigues me anyways. Great review.

Great review! The book is really intriguing. It takes love/family to another level, at first her brothers sends her to stay with a aunt that neglected her and after becoming a nun she finds love at an unexpected place where she makes a tough decision to break her vows for love. The storyline is nice, from the politics to the love and the different plot twist not mentioning the historical points. Really great and it's a true life story.

Historical fiction always seemed like it'd be a difficult genre to write. It's a shame that the typos detract from the reading.

This sounds like a fantastic historical fiction about a woman who becomes a nun and faces temptation. I love that the characters are so vivid. Congrats on the book of the day. Great review.

A very intriguing plot and I am looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how Beth will respond to temptation. Is she going to keep her vows or give in? That is the million-dollar question and one that will interest me until I get hold of this book!
