I love a good mystery, so I'd like to join Tess in her investigation into The Necklan's Lake Massacre. The novel seems to shine with solid character development, suspenseful twists and turns, and witty dialogues. I'm wondering about the Gothic elements, though. Thanks for a great review!

The reason I didn't like it was that the setup in the part I read for free on Amazon seemed kind of basic. It's the cliche where partying teenagers get attacked by a mysterious horror monster or a slasher, right? I've watched a lot of movies where that happens. As if the horror monster or killer was there just to punish teenagers for having fun. Not really a trope I like.

From the sample pages I read, this book seems like my kind of story. The author does a terrific job of establishing the menace with the prologue. From the opening pages, the stage is set for a good old fashioned page-turner. And the review confirms that as well. If I wasn't knee-deep into three other books right now, I'd be diving into this one. I guess I'll just have to save it for a bit. Congrats to the author on BOTD honors.

Cool review! It sounds like something supernatural is going on, or at least being pinned on that to throw people off. Having entertaining banter and a fast-paced story is a plus as well. Good job, posing a question for the reader to become interested in the novel. Thank you for the review and recommendation.

This suspenseful Gothic mystery is definitely a nice book. I like it that the author maintained a compelling writing and a pace that builds in momentum as the story progresses. Well-developed characters remain another remarkable plus to this book. Congrats on the BOTD!

Based on the reviews, this riveting Gothic mystery is well-written with moving dialogue and evolving, in-depth characters that keeps the reader in suspense. The protagonist is a forensic intern who is assigned to solve a cold-case massacre. It's storyline is exceptionally compelling for me, but unfortunately I'm not attracted to anything Gothic. I will share this great book with others. Great review!

Just like the novel I'm reading currently, investigative plotlines are tension intensifying. Tess seems capable of carrying out the task on your soldiers. Great review.
