This is not the kind of book I will like to read. The grammatical errors are further dissuading. I loved the title of the book though, and the cover. Thank you for such a neat review.

I would love to read and find out how Corey dealt with the challenges he was facing.

Nice review. I enjoyed the sample. Corey is a complex character that I’m enjoying reading about. The story does a good job staying true to the 1960’s and I’m looking forward to seeing how he navigates the events that come up in his life.

Seems like a good read. Would like to find out what happens to Corey as a young teenage boy growing up in that tumultuous period of time having to deal with a lot of social issues and concerns. I'm quite surprised though of the grammatical errors in the book. Thanks.

I am intrigued by Corey's story. It is sad when kids grow up too fast and don't get to enjoy their childhood.
God job on the review.

I am still wondering what Corey was not supposed to know and the impact it had on him if he discovered it. Thanks for the amazing review.

Thank you for mentioning the use of "big" words. I found it annoying and hard to get into a groove of reading. This is not a book I would enjoy, but I do appreciate your thorough review.

This sounds like it could be a good read. I was pleased to read about the advanced vocabulary. I am always on the lookout for new words, and even how other people use old words. There's always the dictionary to help. I'm not so sure about the love interest though I'll give it a try. I'd like to see how the opening scene of the tug making itsway down the river fits in with the rest of the story. Thanks for the review.

This book depicts Corey as a go getter and I have loved that. He's only 14 but has an achievement he'd want to make, that has challenged me. Also him growing in a family of drunk mother and a dad in prison also in a hostile environment, it definitely couldn't be easy just hardships I'd really want to know more about this book,so this is a must read. Thanks for the review.

Coming of age as far back as in the 1960s will make a delicious read. I'd love it! Congrats on BOTD.

It seems ironic that despite using complicated words, there was lack of professional editing. Nonetheless, the plot sounds appealing as a coming of age story and so do the characters. Thank you for the insightful review.
