Dogs or Cats?

Post by pawpoint »

They say a dog is a mans best friend. Do you agree, or are you a cat lover or another type of animal lover? How do you spoil your pets?

I find this question hard considering I have two cats and one dog. A year ago I would have said I was more of a dog person. But my two cats have me thinking twice. Anyone who sees kit (cat) can tell I'm totally her mommy and she loves me. She saves me from bugs. Scares away rabbits. I have two cats and they follow me everywhere and they sleep with me. Yahtzee was on the brink of death when I found her and nursed her back to health (she was living and dying in a Yahtzee box when I found her. That's what's with the name) and kit was about to be put down when she was only six weeks old. I think they know I saved them so they have this loyalty to me. They even freak out if someone they don't know is in the house until I tell them its okay. I think loyal cats are better because they don't have that drooling, excited and in your face, stinkiness that dogs have but they still have the love and respect as dogs do. But I don't know many cats like this so if I have to pick between a normal cat and a normal dog I would go with the dog.
As to how do I spoil them? Well I just bought this remote control mouse that they chase everywhere and hide on me. They absolutely love it.

We live in Puerto Rico now and beaver (dog) was too afraid of the plane so he's staying with a friend until we work something else out. I Skype him though. :)

I'm expecting it to be a grand comment from Bighuey too, Fran.
But I didn't want Beaver to think I forgot about him..

To Skype the dog sounds normal enough. If he Skypes you back that might be something to be concerned about. Just watch he dosent go on a dog porno site or something like that. Cats ore OK I guess, but Ive always been more of a dog person. Cats dont do well around here, the dogs eat them.

My dog Barney was wondering just where this "dog porno" might be found, he often trails the internet looking at dog stuff I dont approve of.

Maybe you should lock Barney in the woodshed with the female of his choice, that might settle him down.

Black Lab - says it all!

The only thing that would improve for him would be a couple of t-bone steaks thrown in for desert

Tell me Pawpoint, does your lab "counter surf" when you leave him? We have a yellow lab who hates to be left alone. She will quickly jump up at counters to pull down whatever she can to shred. Last week she made a total mess of a bag of trash that we stupidly left in kitchen and didn't take out! A friend of mine has a lab too and hers does the same thing. She said it is a lab thing.

No mine doesnt. It maybe because we have a choc Lab, 2 Bichon Frises, and a Lurcher to keep him occupied. My choc Lab used to eat all the skirting and wooden panels in the house, but I think she is behaving now she has grown out her puppy stage

I think the demolishing of the bag of trash is a search for food. Those damn Labradors! lol

A friend of mine had a German Shorthair dog he claimed would get into the garbage, take what he wanted then put the rest back in the can.
