The connections between presidential descendants and their ancestors are what sounds the most interesting to me about this book. I can understand how this would be helpful for research purposes or for those who are history buffs. However, I don't currently need to research these topics at this time. Your review was both helpful and concise, so thank you for the recommendation.

I like the fourth paragraph of this review. Thomas Maule gave a hint of the root of the Americans Constitution, which centers more on the right of the individual as opposed to the right of the Court to tame an individual who breaches other's right while expressing his own. In other words, I take exception to the position of Thomas Maule. I'll enjoy reading this book.

Sounds riveting! Many thanks for the informative review.

Thomas Maule seems to be a very interesting character.I applaud him for being true to his words and criticizing the Puritans even though he suffered greatly for it.

This fascinating historical story starts with Edward Fitz Randolph Jr. arriving at the Plymouth Colony and covers nine generations of his family's history. It covers the Revolutionary War, Industrial Revolution, and the Civil War. Congratulations to the author for writing this important book chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

A book on 9 generations must be a well researched work. I like originality of this work. Despite my love for history, I'll have to pass on this one because I am not conversant with American history, and I certainly would be lost if I decided to read this book. Nonetheless this seems like a great work.
Beautiful review.

It is only too appropriate that a historian should review a book focused on history, and not just some history but a span of nine generations. How very interesting to learn that the valor of an American general has its origin in the illustrious accestor thereof, no other than Charlemagne.
The thorough research is also mentioned as a strong point, as is the excellent proofreading.
Thank you for the reliable review!

Honestly, I'm one of those who wants to find out the history of America and its constitution. I admire the degree of information sharing in this book. Good job.
