The lack of female characters is my biggest flaw with this book as well. I enjoyed reading about different characters, but some diversity in that field would make the series even better. Good job on the review!

I am delighted to know that the pacing in the second book is faster than the first one. Even if there are no dull moments (for me) in the first book, I would love to read a story that will keep me on the edge of my seat.
