Re: Official Review: Immortal' Requiem by Vincent Bobbe

Although the prologue is set in 500 BC, I love that the story actually only spans over five present days. The chapters are all told from perspectives of characters in the book. This type of narration can be so tricky. I often find that when a book is written this way, I have trouble remembering who the chapter belongs to. But that was definitely not the case here. Toward the end of the book, it wasn’t even necessary to look at the chapter heading. The characters were so intricately designed that I felt no trouble knowing which perspective each chapter was written from. And the characters were vast. Bobbe has introduced every kind of fantasy creature to his tale. This includes Elves, Ifrit, zombies, vampires and weird tentacled dog-like creatures called Barghest. What I really enjoyed, though, was that none of these creatures was conventional. They all belong in Vincent Bobbe’s magnificently created realm. i feel like the writer did a excelent job in doing the time line for this book even though it took place so long ago. absloutly amazing book

I found this book oddly sad yet enlightening. It was a real eye opener to me to see that evil does exist in unexpected places in the world. It was a good read though I had trouble shutting down my mind after I finished the book.

In general, I liked Bianka Walter's review of "Immortal' Requiem by Vincent Bobbe though if I had been writing the review there are a few things that I would change. First of all, she did give a good overview of the book's subject matter and you understood that the book was a fantasy which she seemed to enjoy but since I am not usually drawn into "fantasy" books, naming the various characters tended to be a bit confusing. Also the way Bianka expressed herself several times could have been said better. For instance, her first sentence, "I am so sad that this book is finished" didn't make much sense as the book was not finished, she had just finished reading it! An alternative sentence could have been, "I am so sad that I've finished this book as I really loved it that much." In another case her two sentences, " I have trouble remembering who the chapter belongs to. But that was definitely not the case here." should have just been one sentence with a comma in between as in, "I have trouble remembering who the chapter belongs to, but that was definitely not the case here." And ending a sentence with a preposition is definitely a "No, no". I probably would have enjoyed the book review more if I had been interested in the subject matter, but Bianka did definitely come across as one who really enjoyed the book, so that was a positive sign.

Your review is great, I like that there are creative descriptions of places, objects, colors and shapes; it really does stimulate the imagination. Also the central story of good seeking to correct evil is a great selling point. I'd like to get around to reading this someday.
